Each summer the school places special emphasis on a particular aspect of the tradition. The emphasis this year is on musical duos and this is reflected in the choice of tutors and performers. Fonn 2002 also addresses the flute playing traditions of Sligo, Roscommon and Clare and the singing tradition of Carna.

Fonn's programme of classes caters for the intermediate to advanced player and they are a wonderful opportunity for students to learn from the finest exponents of traditional music and song. It is intended that the student would experience and acquire a deeper understanding of the many rich & varied forms & styles of traditional music, while also being encouraged to further improve & develop his / her own style and repertoire.
