Barry Murphy's Comedy Circus

Barry Murphy's Comedy Circus was one of the most exciting and talked about developments in Irish comedy when it first pitched its tent in Vicar Street last year, going on to play to thousands of people at the venue and at the Lisdoonvarna Festival in Dublin's RDS last summer.

Fronted by Aprés Match star and co-founder of the legendary Comedy Cellar at the International Bar, Barry Murphy, The Comedy Circus brings together an all star cast of powerful comedic and musical talent to present a wonderfully free-form show with sketches, musical ditties, parodies and stand-up. A refreshing shake up of the traditional mc-standup-mc format.

Featuring very special guests including artists and performers from Festival 2004.

Eddie Bannon, Ian Coppinger & Brendan Dempsey are SML MED LRG

In the beginning was the word, and the word was comedy. The people came to see the comedy, they sat and laughed, and they saw that it was good. Amongst those watching were three young men of varying stature who saw that the comedy was indeed good. And lo they decided that they could do better, and so they did.

SML MED LRG is Eddie Bannon, Ian Coppinger and Brendan Dempsey in a blinding mix of stand-up and sketches that will leave the audience in a happy state of generous bonhomie – which, if distilled and drunk, would bring everlasting peace and happiness.

SML MED LRG - because size matters!

Flight of the Conchords, Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement

Currently the hottest ticket in comedy, Flight of the Conchords are by their own admission New Zealand?s ?fourth most popular folk parody duo? yet these talented Kiwis have managed to capture the attention of the comedy industry worldwide with soldout seasons at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, their native New Zealand and Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

Their unique brand of comedy is grounded in original tunes that showcase their incredible vocal and instrumental talents. Their fresh understated delivery belies a depth to their comedy that resulted in a Perrier nomination in 2003.

"Brilliantly underplayed, the wit is so aridly dry and yet so brilliantly stupid. These two immensely gifted comics have created a splendid environment in which to quietly savage an impressively wide range of topics? simply unmissable." Chortle, Melbourne

Kevin McAleer Chalk & Cheese

Chalk & Cheese is an everyday tale of paranoia, delusions, hallucinations, psychosis and pure gibberish. McAleer’s latest comic creation lives in a world of his own; ordinary events such as a visit to the supermarket, a letter from the postman, a phone call, can be the starting point for strange space voyages into the back of his own head. It’s insanity Jim, but not as we know it.

"Dizzying rocket trips of the imagination" Evening Herald "McAleer has rarely been so inventive" The Irish Times
