Diners can choose from full Irish, vegetarian and continental breakfast from 7am to 11.30am. As an accompaniment to the meal, read over the restaurant's complimentary newspapers or digest the day's news on Sky TV.

The lunch time carvery opens at midday and includes one or two roasts, fish choices, vegetarian dishes, steaks, chicken, Asian or oriental dishes. Head chef, Ken Shaw offers diners both traditional and new tastes at affordable prices.

To ensure quality and freshness, the Shaws bake their own brown bread, scones and bread rolls and make a full range of desserts including apple pie and pavlova.


Being the youngest recipient of the "Sommelier of the Year" award, Ken Shaw has a head start in choosing the wine for the restaurant. He spent a number of years in Dublin managing the Clarence and Wynn's Hotels before opening his own restaurant in Ballsbridge. His brother Alan worked with AIB Bank in London for twenty years before returning to Galway to set up in business with his brother. The Shaw brothers will ensure you enjoy a pleasant eating experience which will make you want to return to Rascals again and again.
