Traditional drink, Traditional music, and a Traditional Irish Welcome! Located in the heart of Galway City, just off Eyre Square, The Western Bar is a warm and welcoming place, traditional and friendly, and is the site of the largest open traditional Irish music session in Galway every Thursday! Our bar is unique in that it is very much a local bar, popular with Galwegians, so mingling with the local people is very easy. There are Traditional Irish music sessions on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 9.30pm, Ceili Irish Set dancing on Wednesdays from 9pm, a local band playing all your favourite Irish Songs on Friday from 9.30, Live Band on Saturdays from 9.30pm and our House DJ playing all your old favourites on Sunday from 9.30pm. We also serve a full carvery, snack and a la carte menu by our award winning chef, so feel free to stop by for a bite to eat as well! |

About ratings

How to submit a rating

Can I change a rating?
Yes, to change your rating just submit another rating. The new rating will override any previous ratings.
Why do we validate ratings?
Associating a rating with an email address prevents cheating. Without this measure it would be trivial for someone to submit many ratings and bias the results.
The validation process works by sending a PIN to your email address which you will need to complete the rating process. Once successfully validated you can continue to rate other businesses without having to validate again for the duration of your browsing session (ie until you close the browser).
