The Galway Yoga Centre was established in 1986 by Swami Shraddhamurti and Swami Chetanmurti. It is inspired by their teacher Swami Satyananda, one of the great yoga masters of our time. All the techniques that are taught here are from the ancient tantric teachings of Swami Satyananda.
Swami Shraddhamurti is from Co Mayo, and Swami Chetanmurti is from Denmark. After undergoing a 2 year teacher training course with Guni Martin, one of Swami Satyananda's students in Denmark, they then started teaching in Copenhagen.
When they moved over to Ireland they established Galway Yoga & Meditation Centre, and have since 1986 been running the Centre with daily classes and residential courses. Initially the teaching of Yoga was primarily in the centre in Galway City and the surrounding towns, but in 1990 land was acquired in the parish of Athenry and work started on renovating the existing buildings into a residential yoga centre. - This is an ongoing process. |

About ratings
Ratings allow us to identify the best (and worst) of Galway. The rating process is quick, easy and anonymous.
How to submit a rating

Can I change a rating?
Yes, to change your rating just submit another rating. The new rating will override any previous ratings.
Why do we validate ratings?
Associating a rating with an email address prevents cheating. Without this measure it would be trivial for someone to submit many ratings and bias the results.
The validation process works by sending a PIN to your email address which you will need to complete the rating process. Once successfully validated you can continue to rate other businesses without having to validate again for the duration of your browsing session (ie until you close the browser).
