JewellersJewellery shops in Galway are to be found at every turn. They encompass the broadest possible selection of jewellery and prices. The shops include branches of large chain stores offering an enormous collection of items at reasonable prices. At the other end of the scale there are a number of very upmarket stores which carry all of the best known international brand names. Many of the shops carry a fine selection of locally-made or traditional jewellery. The most famous of these is the Claddagh Ring, which was originally used by the people of the Claddagh as a wedding ring and has now gained international renown as a universally recognised symbol of love.
