Tennis

Tennis has increased in popularity in Ireland. The aftermath of Wimbledon every year is usually marked by enthusiastic young players bent on emulating the success of the latest star.

It tends to be a summer game in Ireland as many of our courts are outside. Associations such as the Irish Lawn Tennis Association are now providing classes for Irish youngsters during the summer months so it seems the popularity of the sport will increase.

As it does so its likely that the number of indoor courts will increase. Use of court facilities depend on the ownership of the tennis courts. Courts owned by the local corporation may be open to everybody while those owned by actual clubs will usually have more rigorous rules.

For the tennis enthuasiast its possible to organise tennis holidays in Ireland where the days are spent improving your strokes with tennis coaches.
