Tennis courts abound and are particularly popular during the summer months. Squash, racquet-ball, and badminton facilities are to be found in most towns.
Galway people are keen spectators at field-games espeically hurling and gaelic football.
Rugby has gained increasing popularity in recent years and is known as a gentlemans game although there may be afew players with broken noses who would disagree with that.
