The Galway Film Fleadh is a film festival which takes place around July every year. There is also a Junior Film Fleadh for children.

Regarded as one of Europe’s key cultural events Galway Arts Festival is an international celebration of the performing and visual arts. Over 100,000 people attend the Festival annually with hundreds of writers, artists, performers and musicians creating theatre, spectacle, street art, music, comedy, literature and music to produce a stunning fortnight of cultural activity and celebration.

Music for Galway organises a huge range of concerts annually. These range from chamber music to schools concerts, from orchestral concerts to solo recitals.

The Galway Sessions festival of music takes place all over Galway City and includes some of the best world renowned artists. The festival will be held in a number of venues throughout the city including the street of Galway, The Crane Bar, Róisín Dubh, Monroe's Tavern, The Quays, Tigh Neachtáin, Tigh Cóilí, Taffees, Massimo's, and Áras na Gael.. any many more.

Galway’s second ‘Culture Night’ is to take place on Friday 25th September 2009 in a number of locations all over the city . Inspired by the success of the Dublin Culture Night. Galway’s rich cultural fabric along with cultural institutions throughout the city will be showcased by hosting a series of programmes of events and displays on the evening of Friday, 25th September, admission to many which will be completely free.

Galway Pride celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2009 and this year promises to be a fun filled weekend where everyone is welcome to join in. The festival runs from the 20th-23rd of August.
